I used to hate coffee. I couldn’t understand why anyone would drink it. It wasn’t until I started my career as a sales professional that I slowly started drifting to the “dark side.” This was due to the fact that most of my meetings took place at local coffee shops. In the beginning, I forced myself to drink it just to fit in. However, there was also a small part of me that wanted to like it because so many of my peers enjoyed it. Fast forward to today, and I not only love a great cup of coffee but find myself thinking about it at all hours of the day.

With my two oldest children working as baristas, I’ve had the benefit of being able to try a fair number of fun and elaborate drinks. But my two favorites are a simple cup of dark roast, black, on a chilly day or a nice cold brew when it’s hot out. Speaking of which, sharing all of this has got me jonesing for another cup!

My obsession with coffee began when I was introduced to the pumpkin spice latte. Although I still enjoy a cup of coffee with syrups and sweeteners on occasion, I now find more enjoyment in the richer, bolder tastes of dark roasts and cold brew.

Today, as a homeschooling mother of five and wife to a man with a ridiculous amount of entrepreneurial drive, I rely on that initial cup of coffee (more than I’d like to admit, lol!) to keep me focused and going throughout each crazy day. So, while I’m the official caffeine-fueled photographer for this website, my real full-time job is as “Director of Chaos” for my household. Needless to say, it’s a wild ride on a daily basis. Which is why I’m so grateful for that morning cup!
